Is an 801(k) really a great way to build walth 4-5X as quickly as traditional retirement plans like 401(k)s and IRAs? That's the basic pitch from Dan Ferris for what he's calling the “801(k) Plan.” If you were with us back in 2007 and 2008, when Stock Gumshoe was still cutting its baby teeth, this might sound familiar … since the ad is back now and going strong, we're taking another look, you can see today's Gumshoe thoughts here.
Or did you miss any of the action last week? Just read on …

I shared a few more notes about facebook, the IPO that no one can ignore, in the intro to our Idea of the Month article on Friday for the Irregulars, by the way, so if you missed that you can see it here (no, facebook is not our “idea” this month). Since we were all thinking facebook all the time this week, we we're all quite receptive to the pitch from Christian DeHaemer that came in under emails with the subject line: “Don't Buy Facebook's IPO: Buy This Instead.”
He pitches a few ideas in that teaser, all at least tangentially related to the social media colossus (tangential being a key word here), so what does he think we should invest in? and we'll start to unravel the mystery.
And in part two I dig into the other ideas teased by Christian DeHaemer as better ways to play the facebook IPO — including one that he says is like buying facebook for four bucks a share. Not bad, eh? for the full story.
