Southern ITS International, Inc. (ALCD) provides turnkey integration of electronic security systems for various industries including transportation, gaming and other secure operations in both government and private sectors. The integration includes surveillance, access control, network infrastructure, fire and burglar alarm systems.
Today, security technologies are rapidly evolving and many require remote access through various networks, firewalls, and Internet security. ALCD’s mission is to provide a complete integration of the various electronic security systems within networks, and ensure that these systems will remain secure from a potential cyber attack, a recent filing stated.
The growing complexity of data systems, and the demands for improved data integration could create new growth opportunities for ALCD.
Most recently, the company announced that it completed the acquisition of Southern ITS Corp., a Mississippi-based company that will further assist ALCD to expand into the fast-growing electronic security integration sector.
“This acquisition will provide the Company the necessary platform to expand rapidly in the implementation of the Company’s aggressive business plan,” said ALCD’s CEO Sylvain Desrosiers in an August 15 press release.
A one-stop shop
One of the key markets for ALCD is casinos. The company is helping casinos move to a digital video recording solution and integrating its solutions with other features of a casino’s business such as point of sale and access control.
“We’ve succeeded to ease the burden of this major investment by offering systems that work off the facility’s current analog matrix while ensuring all the superior benefits and efficiencies of a digital recording system,” an August 15 press release stated. “Furthermore we’ve enhanced the usefulness of such a powerful upgrade.”
ALCD is able to provide a wide range of services in video surveillance including consulting/management, complete systems, and hardware.
And now, with the acquisition of Southern ITS Corp., ALCD “will have the capability to provide a fully-integrated surveillance system including data and voice communication systems targeted for installation in casinos, schools, hospitals, commercial buildings and government infrastructure facilities,” according to the August 15 press release.
A seasoned team
Southern ITS’s president Jason Bell spent the last two decades in the electronic security and information transport industries, 10 years of which were spent in the gaming security business according to the company’s Web site. Bell holds certifications from Pelco Security Systems, Hitachi Cabling Systems and a MDIS certification with Optical Cable Corporation. After Hurricane Katrina, he was contracted to rebuild Data, Phone and Surveillance systems for the Palace Casino Resort and the IP Casino Resort.
Vice President of Operations, Mark Walley began his career in telecommunications infrastructure and Information Transport Systems (ITS) in 1998 working for a local cabling contractor in the Jackson, MS metropolitan area, the company’s Web site states. Working his way up through the ranks of a fledgling company, Walley achieved the Registered Communications Distribution Design (RCDD) certification, maintained through Building Industry Consulting Services International (BICSI), in the summer of 2000. Walley has been involved with design and engineering of IT systems since that time, and has designed and managed projects ranging from simple voice and data networks (several thousand dollars) to complex installations requiring the coordination of multiple vendors and contractors (over a million dollars).
A bright future?
“We are confident that our efforts to expand the Company’s business focus will deliver a successful outcome to our shareholders as well as create a spring board for substantial, future growth for the Company,” Desrosiers said in the August 15 press release.
Will 2012 be a breakout year for ALCD?
