Jay Leno’s Trillion Dollar Investing Tip

Jay Leno’s Trillion Dollar Investing Tip – The Next Trillion Dollar Industry

It’s no joke, Jay Leno, famous talk show host and avid car enthusiast may be on to something more lucrative than his Tonight Show, its what Motley Fool is calling “Jay Leno’s Trillion Dollar Investing Tip“.  That’s right, whoda thunk the guy we see every night pitching jokes and interviewing celebrities may be one of the early discoverers of what could be the next American Economic Revolution.  Or Evolution.  See, Jay has tons of old cars (literally) and these old cars need to have old parts replaced, parts that they just don’t make any more.  Jay found a way to make these parts efficiently and with precision.  How he is making these parts is insanely innovative and its impact could have world wide repercussions and at the same time bring the American economy back to the forefront.

Here is what some of the guys at Motley Fool said about this revolutionary technology:

“The Wall Street know-it-alls laughed when we said the host of The Tonight Show was onto something big. But it’s no joke – his favorite new gadget is launching a 21st-century industrial revolution that will end the Made in China era for good.

The guys who brought you the iPod and Amazon.com are taking it seriously. In fact, they’re scrambling to get a piece what Business Insider calls “the next trillion dollar industry.”

Business Insider says it’s “the next trillion dollar industry.” The Economist has gone even further, comparing its potential impact to the steam engine and the printing press.

So what is it? And how can you make money from this “Next Trillion Dollar Industry“?  Simply put, its 3-D Printing.  3 D PRINTING.  Or Additive Manufacturing for long.  And its possibilities are endless.  The capabilities could have significant across many industries from car parts to fashion.

A video report by CNN Money gives you some insight into where this technology is and where it is going.   Credit goes to CNN Money for this video.

Could this be how the replicators in Star Trek started?  Now think about all the money China has put into expanding its manufacturing capabilities. In time, could this turn out to be a big mistake?  Imaging having these printers in mass quantities pumping out toys, car parts, tooth brushes and even clothing.  Someday we may even be able to reproduce living body cells, imagine taking the genetic design of internal organs and reproducing them.  No more waiting list for a heart transplant.  This might seem far fetched to you, but it is becoming reality as you will read below.

Let’s go back to the question, how can you make money from this?  There are a few companies that are leading the way in this technology that are publicly traded. Below are a few in this industry.

Stratasyss, Inc, which trades under the symbol (NASDAQ:SSYS) Stratasys, Inc. is a manufacturer of three-dimensional (3D) printers and rapid prototyping (RP) systems for the office-based RP and direct digital manufacturing (DDM) markets. The Company develops, manufactures and sells a product line of 3D printers and RP systems (and related consumable materials) that create physical parts from computer-aided design (CAD) designs. It also offers rapid prototyping and production part manufacturing services through its centers located in North America, Europe and Australia. Its products are used in the aerospace, defense, automotive, medical, business and industrial equipment, education, architecture, and consumer-products markets

3D Systems Corporation, Stratasyss’s NSYE traded competition which is larger but lower priced under the symbol DDD.  3D Systems Corporation (3D Systems) is a holding company that operates through subsidiaries in the United States, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. The Company is a provider of three-dimensional (3D) content-to-print solutions including 3D printers, print materials and on-demand custom parts services for professionals and consumers.

Then there’s Dassault Systèmes an ADR stock which actually trades on the Pinksheets for about about $90 a share under the ticker symbol (PINKSHEETS: DASTY) Dassault and 3D Systems are actually partnered on 3D projects.  Dassault Systemes SA provides software solutions and consulting services. The Company’s global customer base includes companies primarily in 11 industrial sectors: Aerospace & Defense, Transportation & Mobility, Marine & Offshore, Industrial Equipment, High Tech, Architecture, Engineering & Construction, Consumer Goods Retail, Consumer Packaged goods Retail, Life Sciences, Energy, Process & Utilities, Financial & Business services.  Dassault also terms itself as the 3D Experience Company, that provides business and people with virtual universes to imagine sustainable innovations. Its world-leading 3D design software, 3D Digital Mock-Up and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions transform the way products are designed, produced, and supported.

For those who like to go a bit more risky, there is a low priced company trading on the OTCBB under the symbol ONVO, Organovo Holdings, Inc.  This one is a bit off the beaten path of 3D printing.  Its main focus is on a technology called Bioprinting and its device the NovoGen MMX Bioprinter.

The NovoGen MMX Bioprinter™ is a novel hardware and software platform at the forefront of bioprinting research and development. The NovoGen MMX™ was developed to meet challenges in biological research. The platform takes primary or other human cells and shapes them into 3D tissue, with tremendous cellular viability and biology that is superior to even an animal model. The platform is being used by Organovo’s Pharma partners today to enable cutting edge research into drug discovery.

Picture disease and drug testing on real human cells in a laboratory, not on animals.  How far would this advance medical research into curing cancer? It’s not out of the realm of possibility.  Keep your eye on this one, if successful, this company could be a game changer in itself.  The company went public via reverse merger, and could become a rare example of the penny stock dream.  Keep in mind, the company is basically still in its early stages, yet it has been able to raise money through private offerings and grants.  In fact, Organovo was included in the 2012 TR50, MIT Technology Review’s annual list of the world’s most innovative technology companies.

There is a company called MarkerBot which intends on bringing affordable 3D printers to the consumer market place that actually received a $10 Million round of financing from The Foundry Group.   Read about it here if you like MarkerBot Receives $10 Million Financing.

About

I began my investing career back in 1998. I quickly discovered day trading, small cap and penny stocks. I was the editor of my own investment newsletter, stock promoter, investor relations, public relations and have witnessed the back-end process of taking a private company public through reverse merger and registration. That is roughly over a decade in a nutshell. During this time I learned how to identify the rats, sharks and people who truly want to help you learn about investing. Now I do research and write. My hope is to pass along nuggets of information that could help or the very least entertain you on your way to financial success.

Penny Motion is focused on bringing it's readers due diligence, investment ideas, teasers revealed and great investment related reading.  Penny Motion's main focus is surrounding penny stocks ,small cap stocks, and the stock market in general.  Penny Motion is also an investment newsletter syndication website, featuring newsletters we deem to be the best of the web.  Most are free services, however, we will also screen and provide information on premium services we believe to deliver excellent services.  Thank you for visiting www.pennymotion.com and we hope you enjoy your stay.
